The Hasbani Valley – 118th day of war

Hi,
So we are about to get back the military reserve, and the place we are set to be in is the Hasbani Valley.

The Valley is called after the Hasbani river, flowing in the middle of it. The two other streams that combine to be the Jordan river also flow in it (Dan stream and Banias stream). The Hasbani is not the largest but the longest of all of those. Maybe this is why the valley is called after it.

The valley is located in the north of Israel, and part of it is setting the border between Israel and Lebanon (the Hasbani is set the border with Lebanon for 4 km south from Ghajar).

The settlements in the valley are mostly empty, and we will sit in one or a couple of those settlements. At this moment, those settlements hold mainly the security force (consists of soldiers living in those settlements). We call those forces Kitat Konenot (on call squad).

Almost empty as some people still love on those settlements. Necessary workers who take care of settlements economy and old man and women who refused to leave where they lived in during their all life (many remember the decades the area was daily bombed from Lebanon, and do not see a difference between the times).

But the people living come to visit their houses on the weekends. Cleaning them up, making needed maintenance, water the planets, and just enjoying their home and think about the time Hezbollah will be pushed away from the border and they can come back to live in this peaceful place.

Take Care
Gad
