Hi,
We went down to Beer Sheva. The idea was to visit Fatma and her new husband, but we decided to enjoy a visit to Carasso Science Park (link)
The main item, which I must say was more interesting for me than for the kids, was dinosaurs fossils! (Later on we discovered they were gypsum replicas).
It was amazing, I had never seen those in real life and they are big. Those fossils came from Patagonia (Argentina), and the names were a bit different. I was looking for the Tyrannosaurus Rex but down in South America it is called the Gigantosaurus (there is also a Megalsaurus, but I haven’t found a a Tera-surus 🤣)
One new thing I learned was that a fossil of a head of a dinosaur was found here, in Israel! Till now I thought there is only the footstep in the rock in Beit Zait.
Other than that there were many scientific experiments and game. It was all – almost. The ideas were very good, but it felt as something not quite worked.
The buildings of the park are preserved building and part of the old city of Beer Sheva. Except it there is the outside park and the underground complex which host most of the exhibitions (better for this hot desert city)

The entrance to Carasso Science (we first tried the gate on the left… )
The outside part (some was still closed because of coronavirus)
Prehistoric animals (probably an old exhibition – but let the kids see how big they were).
The main building – the Sheihks’ sons school (a Turkish Building)
The second building – The Dormitory for Sheihks’ sons school (a Turkish Building)
The third building – Girls’ school (Masada) (a mandatory building)
The Mosasaurus of the Negev, because the area was covered with Tethys Ocean the fossils in Israel are mostly marine.
Jannaeus and Mindal with the small dinosaurs fossils
A Carnotaurus fossil (we know this from Disney Dinosaurs movie)
An Elsa and Olaf show (from Disney Frozen movie). They did some nice things, but there was no explanation behind it…. – Carasso Science
