Hi,
It isn’t a Medicane (“Mediterranean Hurricane” – Mediterranean tropical-like cyclones), just a bit above normal for Red sea trough storm. Although this Red sea trough rain events are, in general, extreme events.
This through is the cause for the rain events during the transition season here in Israel (Spring an Autumn).
This different than Winter time in Israel, which characterizes in low pressure areas (“Shka’im) moving from North- West to South-East. Most of their Except for rainfall, they also lower the temperature. Sometimes lowering it enough to cause snow to fall in Jerusalem 🤗. Most of the rain in those barometric events is mainly in the North of Israel, While the south gets small amounts of rainfall.
The Red sea trough is more tropical – the rain is short term event but stronger than rainfall events in Israel during the winter. While the temperature is warmer.
The rain is also mainly in Southern and Eastern Israel – what causes to beautiful floods events in the Negev and in Judean Desert. The Northern part of Israel is also under clouds and rain, but
For me, I went on running yesterday in the Park. And a street light post almost hit me…
