Hi,
We drove pretty much during this week, around 1400km. The Greece roads are good. Either it is the country roads or the toll highways. We got a prepaid package that includes Waze for our cellphones what made the navigation easier. We could have done it in the highways, but I don’t know if we could have done it alone in Pelion country roads.
In order to get around Greece we ordered a Wolkswagon Polo, but when we got to the rental car they suggested as SsongYung Tivoli 4×4. It really made the driving in the small and stiff Pelion roads easier. I thought it will be fun to surprise Yuzik and his family – to park by their car. We waited for them by one of Meteora monasteries. When a black Nissan mini van park by our side. Guess who went out of it – Yuzik. Apparently they also got a bigger car, but really bigger 🙂
Traffic lights only on you side. It doesn’t change much, but it means you have to stop well before what we used to in Israel. If you remember to do it…. Many times I found myself leaning toward the dashboard trying to see the color of the traffic lights. Other times Atzva tried to look through the side window. If we both could see it, we just waited for the driver behind us to hunk 😜
There are many two wheel vehicles 🛵🏍 on Greece roads, mainly on the country roads. After driving in those roads for a while it is completely understandable. Most of the riders understand the significant of an helmet. You can see many riders taking the helmet with them while riding. They do hold it on their hand, but I guess you can’t have it all 😁
Take care
Gad
