Hi,
As our battalion is not completely organized on how to communicate with us on things that happens inside Gaza strip, the information of the battalion first severely injured soldier came to me from IDF spokesman Whatsapp channel.
The battalion has family group, to let the families know we are OK every morning and evening. Atzva is in the group and she let me know the battalion has an injury. Apparently the families knows better what happens inside our battalion than we (the soldiers in it) knows. Maybe I should join the group to know what happens here…
During the 45 days military reserve duty in the border along Israel and Lebanon, we came with the same problem to our battalion commander. He said something I agree with (at least back than) – It is the generation of information. We probably know better than he does, as we have our cellphone with us and keep following Whatsapp and Telegram groups with all the information. We also have the time to follow it, while he does not.
But now we are in a war, inside Gaza strip and do not have our cellphones with us. The only pipe of information is what we got from what information the battalion supplies to us. I must say we are not under our organic battalion at the moment. It does makes sense we do not everything imminently, but we know those people and it is important for us to know what happens to them (especially in such dramatic events).
Take Care
Gad
A screenshot of the IDF spokesperson announcement on the Whatsapp channel – a fighter from Battalion 9227, Brigade 460, was injured severely this morning (Friday) in a fight in north Gaza strip. The soldier was evacuated to an hospital to be taken care of and its family was informed.
