English is an official language over here because the Malta was a crown colony between 1813 and 1963. This is not the only thing the British left over here. Walking in the streets you can still see the red mailboxes and the red telephone booth.
But if you drive in those streets – you will realize that the British Empire also left the Maltese the habit of driving in the wrong side of the road (There is the right way of driving right and the wrong way of driving in left 
). I thought that only in Australia and in Britain they drive this way, but apparently it is also here in Malta.
We had a discussion over it – Britain ruled in Mandatory Palestine from 1917 till 1948, time long enough to change they we drive here. But Israel, unlike Malta, wasn’t crown colony. It was ruled by Britain under the UN mandate, so things like the side we drive on wasn’t changed.
Although Britain ruled Malta for pretty long time, it is still kind of Italian. They got the Siesta resting time and half of the Maltese language is Italian (the other half is Arabic, what makes it pretty funny for our ears 
). Well after all, Malta is just South of Italy

Blue Lagoon – packed with tourists but still worth a visit. I guess you understand why it is called the blue lagoon =)
We took a ride in a boat to the caves and grottoes on the other side of the Blue Lagoon

Instead of packing ourselves with the rest of the tourists we just walked to the other side and found a small nice place to sit and relax. See the bottom picture? This is Atzva snorkeling! I finally convinced her to try it out – And she loved it =)
Relaxing in the end of the day over a cocktail (Atzva’s cocktail is of course non-alcoholic).
I cannot close the day without a construction pic, even if it is in the night =) I liked the way the thickness of the cantilever slab is reduced to the edge direction. The only question is, how the beam is handling the torsion?
