We are all waiting now for the ground maneuver in Gaza strip to start. The last time, such an act happened was on Operation Pillar of Defense in 2012 (eleven ears ago).
If it was dependent on the Israeli government and the people of Israel alone, IDF forces would have taken over Gaza strip two weeks ago.
But governments around the world wish to negotiate with Hamas as much as they can to release their hostages and kidnap citizens, which are now in Gaza strip.
But not only the 300,000 reserve duty soldiers (largest military reserve duty ever drafted in Israel) are waiting. The whole country is in a waiting position. All wait to see when the ground maneuver in Gaza strip will start and what the results will be.
The reaction of Hamas to the ground maneuver will set how the life in the south and center of Israel will be during the war. If rockets and missiles will be launched in the amount and distance as seen during the last two weeks, we will need to keep living in this new reality.
The reaction of Hezbollah to ground maneuver in Gaza strip will determine what will happen in the north border of Israel. It might end up in a ground maneuver in Lebanon as well (as last happened in second Lebanon war ).
Hezbollah has a large arsenal of long-distance rockets and missiles that cover most of the Israel area. And a ground maneuver in Lebanon will probably also result in a massive launching of those to the north and center of Israel.
In the meanwhile, the border with Lebanon is getting warmer, and we are sitting on the edge of the area bombing distance and suffering from Purple rain while a training.
