Those reelections of 2019 were a waste of money and time – there are still only 2 options to set this government.
Either it will be a right wing party in which Lieberman will have to sit with the ultra Orthodox. Or it will a non-religious union government in which Gantz will have to sit with Bibi.
It was pretty much the situation in the first elections of 2019 – Lieberman was do decide who will rule, and he will decide who will rule. But after those reelections it is only clearer almost no government will rise without him.
I keep avoiding to call the reelections 2019 as second round of elections. There was a majority to a new government, but Bibi decided to spread the elected Knesset.
We call it Term B elections. It comes from the Israeli universities exams. I know it is not so common around the world. Because of Israel military reserve duty (link), many students were missing exams and the Universities had given them a separate exam. No this second term is open for everybody, as a second chance to pass the test or to get a better grade. For students that missed the exam because of reserve duty – there is a third round 😁
In this case I am thinking to myself: if you had a question in first exam, you answered it and you failed. Don’t you better answered it differently on the second chance 😉
I know I didn’t, I voted to the same party (with a different name). And seems like most of the Israeli public did the same 😆
