Hi,
The last time we heard an siren alert while in our house, was when we were still living in Haifa. We woke in the middle of the night and went down to the shelter. We were so overwhelmed. The neighbor told us the siren is so strong because it is from the school that sit 20m away. For some reason it sounded like a good reason not to enter the shelter and go back to bed 🤣.
This time we were sitting in our living room just when an episode of Mom. Thinking what to do with our half free Friday morning (half because we still have Mindal with us).
In the first second you don’t think it is an alert, maybe a motorcycle accelerating. You need a couple more seconds to realize it isn’t going up and down – like a drill siren alert. But just going on and on. Just to make sure we opened Home front command website to see there is a siren. And there was an alert in our area.
“I pick him, you pick her” and down we go to the shelter. Knocking on the doors of our elderly neighbors in case they didn’t hear it…
On the way down we heard the Boom, which for us meant we can go back to sleep. Later on we’ll learn there were two rockets shoot from Gaza strip. One fall in the sea, the other was intercepted by Iron Dome.
And I keep thinking: If it comes from the North I might call up for a military reserve…
Take Care
