Hi,
We packed ourselves and went to visit the Monkey Park (Sanctuary).
I don’t like zoo. In The Big After Army Trip to South America I looked with bad eye on those who visit Bueons Aires Zoo for the attraction of petting the drugged tiger. Yes, I am aware that zoo those days are important for keeping animals in instinction danger, but still.
The Monkey Park is different thing. It is a rescue and education center and run by the IPSF (Israeli Primate Sanctuary Foundation), that was founded in 1996. This non-profit organization purpose is to rehabilitate monkeys who survived laboratory experiments (like Mazor farm, no longer legal in Israel), or illegally smuggled to the country.
The place use as school for those monkeys, as they don’t know how to act around their specie. For example – after live in seclusion, they really happy to jump and hug other monkeys. Doing it to the rolling male, will end bad for them.
During the rehabilitation, an adult monkey is attached to them to teach the new monkey how act properly. It reminds me the saying “People does not grow up, they only learn how to act in public” 🙂
