Semien Mountains, Ethiopia
Hi,
We took the Semien Mountains trek over the Danakil Desert.
Although I think the Danakil will be more amazing (you know: active Volcano, geysers and stuff like that… ) , I prefer to walk for a couple of days than be driven in a car for 4 days.
Basically you go out with a group and take a scout (armored to keep you safe and show you the way), a guide (to tell you what you are looking at), a cooking staff (2 to 3 people that cooks and building the tents) and a mule (to carry the bags)…
Atzva and I decided to do it alone (except for the scout which is mandatory): I was the mule, Atzva was the cooking staff and we both were the guides

Those birds were everywhere. They big and not afraid of humans – what probably mean they taste bad.
