Hi,
As we spend the weekend at Nahsholim hotel, and had a short walk along the beach to visit Tel Dor. The hotel has a free guided tour of the archeological site on Sabbath mornings. But Jannaeus got bored with the guide pretty fast so we left it, and come back in the evening.
The Tel sits just on the water’s edge and holds a long history of the settlement of sailors along the history Most of the archeological findings from the site are shown in the nearby Mizgaga museum. You can choose to walk between two walking paths: the easy walk couple of meters above the water on the Kurkar ridge or the trail for experienced hikers on the rocky shore (each is about a km long).
When visiting here a couple of years ago on a fun day from work, there was not even a sign here. Nowadays it has signs and a visiting center (which we got to at the end of our walk.
On Friday we visited the Mizgaga Museum (which we could have visited on Sabbath as well – it is within a walking distance from the hotel and open on Sabbath) and Nili museum in Zikhron Ya’akov (which we had to drive to, and is closed on Sabbath).
Take Care
