Hi,
We have not visited Atzva parents for the past 4 months, but for my father in law birthday we packed our things and went driving to Dolev.
Each time, one is asking my wife where she is from, and she answers, “Dolev.” I wait to see the response. But mainly to see if they know where it is. Atzva answer to it, in most times, is It near Modi’in. That makes me laugh every time. The truth is that the nearest large city to the place is Ramallah, but it is a Palestinian city.
As much as we try to avoid this frontier, the war also takes place in the west bank. Where daily activities are taken by the IDF, terrorists are being killed and arrested, and IDF soldiers are injured and killed.
The way to Dolev, as you understand, is not safe. It was never was, and we are used to seeing IDF forces along the roads when we leave the place on our way home on Motza’ei Shabbat.
But now the soldiers were spread all along the roads, also during the day. On the entrance to the settlement, there is a civilian guard keeping who enters the place. But now another guard, a soldier, is standing outside the gate to keep an eye on the place. When you enter the place, concrete road blocks with sand bags on top are standing on each side.
When I took the kids for a walk in the rain, I could see the place had been fortified – many guarding posts were built around the paremiter road.
