Miramare castle,
Italy.
I don’t like the forts and castles of Europe, they seem too much like that or just big houses not like a place that can defend itself.
Maybe it is the IDF that thought me that all military stuff has to be massive, efficient and most of the time… not beautiful. But the castles that made of bricks and the wall with the serrated tops really make them look ridiculous – Is that what going to stop your enemy?
I like my walls made with big stones and look impressive and not beautiful. The kind that will scare your enemy when he sees it, not the kind that will make him ponder how lovely it will be to live in it – after all, if you manged to make you enemy think twice before he attacks you are already in advantage in the fight. And if he decided not to attack at all, well…. it’s seems like you have won the fight =)

The working rooms of Ferdinand Maximilian for whom the house was built. He was an Navy officer, and some of the rooms reminds those of the frigate Novara, the ship that used by Maximkilian as the commander of the Navy.
In 1864 Maximkilian appointed as the Emperor of Mexico, and the walls were covered signs that belong to Mexico (Pineapple and anchor)
Just another “house” on the shore
