Call sign – 364th day of war

Hi,
Somehow, in the movies, everybody gets a cool call sign for their military units (or for a personal). They all called Bravo, Bravo two zero,  Charlie, Alpha teams or some other alphabetic call sign. This is not only in the movies, but also in real life.

Just look on the list of 20 most badass / cool military call signs ever: Bloody bucket, Phoenix, Mad dog, Nasty hoe, Steel rain, Phantom, Holy Ghost and so on.

But not over here in the IDF. There are, of course, cool call signs. Our company get to be called Chivalry, which we can all agree is a cool call sign . Sometimes they just called us knights – “Just get the knights in here!”

And there are natural kind of call signs, like another company in our battalion (but from a different brigade) which gets to be called floors.  It might be the option, after having a cool one. You do not have a cool one, not good but no bad.

Some get pretty insulting , like a company that gets to be called Skunk. other company gets to be called Shawarma, which can be very insulting as you might think all just fat guys. But it just mainly made everybody think about a nice, big and juicy warp of Shawarma (you might also consider it a cool kind of call sign).

Some of those call signs are just funny, or amusing, like the battalion next to us, which is called Bulbasaur (yes, like the Pokémon). It also makes many people to call them Bulldozer, as not all people knows Pokémon I guess. The D-9 bulldozer, also have a cute call sign – teddy bear.

Take Care
