I decided I don’t feel like spending my time on the flight, so I pick a heavy series to watch – Chernobyl (by HBO and BBC).
If you don’t what it is about, you should read about – a nuclear reactor of a power plant have exploded in 28.05.1986. It killed dozens of people and effected millions.
The whole event somehow reminds me the situation we are in with the Coronavirus.
What easily rised up the connection, was how the country that is the heart of the crisis is hide out the truth about it. Hoping it can somehow control the disaster without the letting the rest of the world knows. Not understanding how big, worldwide and history changing event it is.
Over it e there are the masks covering the face that everyone wears around: military russian masks over there and all kinds of masks over here.
Who is in the heart of the danger area wears a full protective cover: the doctors in the hospitals now and the soldiers on the field back then.
We used to wear and practice with a kind of those suits during military service, to protect us from Atomic, Biological and Chemical weapons. We call it Abach which the acronym for ABC in Hebrew. We somtimes had to run wearing those suits with gas masks and full army gear. We only had to run couple of hundreds meters this way, but I remember it more than most of the army treks we had to walk ten of km.

Writing it all down, I fill a bit uncomfortable comparing the events as the Chernobyl looks a lot worse. Maybe it is the Drama of the show that made me feel this way, but the fact is the Coronavirus killed and effected much more people.
